2024 FAI F3F World Championship for Model Gliders Kicks Off in Limoux!
The 2024 FAI F3F World Championship for Model Gliders has officially begun in Limoux, France! This prestigious event, running until October 12, brings together 55 competitors from 19 countries to showcase their skills.
Up to 3 different slopes may be used, depending on wind direction.

Opening Ceremony
Yesterday, the city centre of Limoux hosted the Opening Ceremony, graced by representatives from local authorities.
The event featured a presentation showcasing videos and photographs from previous competitions, along with informative details about this picturesque region of France. As the ceremony unfolded, all participating teams were introduced to the public, followed by brief addresses from local authority representatives and event organisers.
The pinnacle of the occasion arrived when the Jury President Tomas Bartovsky officially declared the competition open, setting the stage for the exciting Championship to come.
FAI Aeromodelling Commission (CIAM) President and Jury Member Antonis Papadopoulos stated:
"I would like to welcome all the participants. This promises to be a very challenging competition, with numerous rounds taking place on different slopes, likely under varying weather conditions throughout the week. The weather is expected to be suitable. I wish all competitors the very best of luck!"
