The latest edition of the FAI Annual Report, which summarises the FAI’s activities throughout 2017, is available now.
As in previous years, the 2017 report contains details about the year’s major competitions, new world records, and, of course, the amazing achievements of air sports athletes from around the world.
FAI is delighted to be part of this year’s SportAccord Convention in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Convention, at which the Federation is proud to share a booth with its partner Red Bull Air Race, is an excellent place for FAI to exhibit its air sports activities in Asia – a big growth area for a number of FAI disciplines.

Female pilots and athletes have contributed hugely to the world of air sports over the more than 100 years the FAI has been established. So it is hardly surprising that women hold a number of important positions within the FAI today. Former FAI Executive Director Gillian Rayner (another female first) – recently elected to head up the Federation’s first all-female Commission bureau – is one of them.

The sessions of the 111th FAI General Conference were held at the Royal Savoy Hotel in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 26 and 27 October 2017.
More than 100 delegates from Active, Associate Member Countries and International Affiliate Members were present, as well as FAI elected Officers, Presidents of Honour, Companions of Honour, delegates appointed by Presidents of Commissions and Observers.
