Last week, at the Royal Aero Club Awards held at the RAF Club in London, Sir David Hempleman-Adams (pictured left) was officially presented with the title of FAI Companion of Honour—one of the highest distinctions awarded by FAI. The diploma was handed to him by FAI President of Honour David Monks (right).

The FAI Ballooning Commission's 2025 Plenary and Subcommittee & Working Group took place from 12-15 March at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi, India, reports Japan's Hiromi Furukawa from the FAI Ballooning Commission (CIA) Public & Media Relations Sub-Committee.
It was the first visit to India for many of the Plenary participants.

The Britannia Trophy is awarded by the UK's Royal Aero Club to the British aviator/s who accomplished the most meritorious performance in aviation during the previous year. In 2024 the trophy honoured three young pilots who showed remarkable courage during the tragic accident of an experienced pilot and close friend, Peter Gregory.
The Aero Club of India is hosting the FAI Ballooning Commission (CIA) Plenary and Sub-Committee (SC) meetings in New Delhi from 12-15 March 2025. This is the first time the CIA has held a meeting in India, and attendees have already been enjoying meeting people and visiting the sites of this very fascinating country.

From 27 July to 4 August 2024, the French-German International Balloon Camp was held in Lorraine, in the Eastern region of France close to Sion, the 'City of Landscapes'. Forty-two people participated including 36 French and German youngsters.

From October 30 to November 3, 2024, the skies above Reimlingen, Bavaria, played host to an unforgettable cultural and aerial adventure. The German-French Balloon Kids Camp, supported by the French-German Youth Office (FGYO) and the FAI Ballooning Commission (CIA), brought together 19 young participants aged 8 to 14. Thirteen children came from Germany, while six traveled from France, creating a vibrant and diverse group.
