Famed for its excellent gliding conditions, and the only place in Europe to feature night gliding, Leszno is a popular spot in the aviation world, especially as it is alone in having held the World World Gliding Championships four times (1958, 1968, 2003, 2014).
The 5th FAI European Junior Gliding Championships was hosted by the Kaunas Gliding Club at Pociūnai airfield, Lithuania between 11 July to 23 July 2021.
A total of 44 pilots aged under 25 took part, representing Lithuania, Finland, Poland, Denmark, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Germany and Great Britain.
Due to the uncertainty of future travel restrictions and national restrictions affecting gliding the following changes are being made to the 2020 FAI Sailplane Grand Prix (SGP) events schedule.
