Victory for the Czech pilots at the FAI European Microlight Championships
Five hundred flights, five classes, 11 tasks, 41 teams – these are the key numbers of the 15th FAI European Microlight Championships, held in Ignalina, Lithuania.
The competition finished on Saturday 17 August with the award ceremony at the airfield. Pilots and crew from eight countries competed during the week for the best results in navigation, precision and economy tasks.
In the end, Czech pilots won five medals and the team gold medal. Based on the Czech young pilot support programme, 40 per cent of the crews were participating for the first time in an international competition and a number of them enjoyed success.
The Russian pilots were awarded the team medal in silver and the host country claimed the bronze.
