The FAI is following the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, as it might be disruptive to meetings, competitions and travels in general.

Travel advisories are in place for some 'hotspots', but the situation can change overnight.

The FAI recommends anyone wishing to travel to a meeting or a competition to visit the following websites, as well as to check their travel and/or health insurance coverage:

• WHO (World Health Organization)
• IATA (International Air Transport Association)
• U.S. Department of Health & Human Services
• Local (national/domestic) sources of information (for example Switzerland)

The FAI also recommends that all competitors intending to participate in FAI-sanctioned events check with the organisers regarding the COVID-19 situation at the competition location.

The Swiss Federal Office of Public Health has launched an information campaign called “Protect yourself and others”, which explains how to apply basic hygiene rules and what to do when symptoms such as shortness of breath, a cough or a high temperature appear.
