6th FAI World Sailplane Grand Prix Championship – Race in full swing!
Today is the sixth competition day and the race is in its full swing in Varese, Italy! Until Saturday, 12 September 2015, 20 of the world’s best glider pilots are competing at the Calcinate del Pesce Airport, where they fight for the Champion title during the 6th FAI World Sailplane Grand Prix Championship.
After four flights, French pilots Maximilian Seis and Christophe Ruch are leading, followed by Sebastian Kawa from Poland, who is also one of the favorites to regain the title. The last flights should add to the excitement and will keep the tension until the last day.
The latest 3D presentation and video technology is used to bring the excitement to the screens of the spectators. Each glider is fitted with an electronic tracking device transmitting its position in real time, allowing graphic animation to take the public into the cockpit almost being the pilot himself. Next to the competitions, also the pilot briefings are live streamed online. Highlight shows on the website sum up the day’s actions. Follow all the action of the sporting event on Facebook and Twitter! Videos will also be published on their SGP Youtube Channel!
