The Brazilian Gliding Federation (FBVP) has informed FAI of the cancellation of the 4th FAI Pan-American Gliding Championships which was due to take place in Brazil in September.

Despite many attempts from the organisers, it has not been possible to gather enough participants to hold valid championships.

In a letter sent to FAI Gliding Commission President Peter Eriksen, FBVP President Valéria Caselato thanked IGC and its Bureau for its support. She also thanked Eduardo Toselli (IGC Delegate for Argentina and Chief Steward) and Renato Tsukamoto (Jury) "for their efforts in attempting to carry out the 4th FAI Pan-American Gliding Championships".
