12th FAI World Paramotor Championships officially open in France
With a warm welcome from Henri Lemoine, Mayor of the nearby city of Pont-à-Mousson, and a greeting from Christian Santini, President of the hosting organisation FFPLUM, the 12th FAI World Paramotor Championships were officially opened. At the reception at the city town hall, 81 pilots and crew members from 15 nations joined the local authorities.
The following day, competition began at Chambley Airfield, located just 30 km south of Metz in the beautiful Lorraine region, with the first task. Until Saturday this week, teams will face challenges in navigation, precision, and fuel economy. Because paramotors are particularly sensitive to wind gusts and thermals, flights take place shortly after sunrise, with the possibility of a second task in the evening.
